Sensory Motor Department (SMD)
at the Learning Resource Center (LRC).
At the SMD, our primary aim is to capitalize on each child’s strengths to cultivate independence in their daily activities, empowering them gradually.
Embracing a holistic methodology, we meticulously evaluate how various sensory motor therapies can positively influence the lives of the children under our care.
These therapies are pivotal in facilitating the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual motor skills, and sensory processing abilities essential for functionality, social interaction, and autonomous growth, thereby ensuring age-appropriate advancement and averting developmental delays.
Our process commences with a comprehensive assessment of each child, leading to customized one-on-one or small group therapy sessions based on the evaluation results.
Our assessments encompass:
- Evaluation of sensory processing abilities through Clinical Observation grounded in Sensory Integration theory
- Assessment of developmental delays
- Examination of neuromuscular status
- Analysis of gross motor skills
