Specialized Services

T
he therapeutic care plan for each child is based on his/her evaluation, which is created and discussed with parents. Evaluation creates the basis of a therapeutic care plan therefore a child can only start receiving therapy services at LRC after having had a comprehensive evaluation. LRC may accept an evaluation of the child by an outside specialist if it is up to date and its report appropriately includes:

  • A statement about why the child was referred for evaluation;
  • Background information about the child’s developmental, social, and family history;
  • A list of the tests performed and the records reviewed;
  • A summary of test results or scores;
  • An explanation of what the test results mean;
  • A summary or conclusion section.

After the evaluation process, the child could be referred to specialized services or consultation in one or more areas at the LRC. We provide specialized therapies and interventions by qualified and experienced specialists. Parental guidance and parental consultation are offered in order to facilitate learning and development at home. Our therapy services include:

Neuro-developmental Services

Serve children, from infancy through early childhood, who show developmental delays and disorders that affect the child's performance in daily life activities. Following the assessment of behavior and developmental skills, the child's profile is determined and therapy is offered in individual or group sessions, accompanied by parental training and support.

Speech & Language Services

Address communication difficulties in speech, language, voice or fluency, in addition to oro-motor and pragmatic skills (English & Arabic). Therapy is provided in small group or individual sessions.

Nutrition Therapy at LRC

Findings of the latest research show that Nutrition can make a big change in any child's quality of life. Nutrition Therapy became an integral part in the comprehensive treatment of children with behavior problems, learning difficulties, Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Dyslexia.
Nutrition Therapy improves children’s general mood, sleep, behavior, and learning patterns. It also includes developing appropriate eating habits, teaching about food choices, and healthy habits.
As valued and responsible partners, we involve parents in the management of their child's treatment. Nutrition Therapy involves parents to co-develop a nutrition plan that is not only safe and effective for the child, but also

Sensory Motor Services

Occupational Therapy: Addresses difficulty with fine/ gross motor coordination, balance, strength and sensory needs.

Physiotherapy: Addresses difficulty with gross motor coordination, balance, and strength.

Sensory Integration: Addresses difficulties with Sensory Processing needs

Vision Therapy: Following a consultation by a visiting Ophthalmologist/ Behavioral Optometrist, demonstrations and follow-up sessions for children could be offered.

Multidisciplinary Services for Zero to 3 YO

Offer small group and individual sessions, and parent training, in addition to supported structured integration in local nurseries. This program is for children (0-3) who have needs in various developmental areas and benefit from an intensive program.

Educational Support Services

Provide targeted, instructional support to students who attend mainstream schools, but are struggling to keep up at school due to identified challenges to their development or their learning. Areas addressed may include pre-academic skills, reading, math, written and second language support and study skills.

Counseling Services

Counseling Services are offered for children, adolescents, or parents to address concerns social, emotional, or behavior development. Counseling may include play therapy, social skills groups, and other specialized formats.
