This course offers a strong foundation for understanding how and what children learn within a school setting. It will be valuable for anyone who has children or who works or wishes to work with children of school age.
The sessions will cover the following:
What is learning? How do we process information to learn? What are the consequences of undetected breakdowns?
The development of Sensory Motor, Language, Social Emotional and Cognitive abilities and their role in successful learning.
The underlying competencies children need to develop at each level and why.
The difference between differentiation and accommodations, which are key to successful inclusion of all learners.
